An Article About The Different Types Of Teeth Whitener Found In The Market

| July 25, 2010

Teeth whitening kits are now used more frequently by people hoping to get a whiter smile. There are so many different kits nowadays that it can be difficult to decide which one to choose.

The only thing that you can do is to check out all the different types and see which one suits you the best. Then you need to be able to set aside a little time every night to apply the product that you choose.

Whitening toothpastes are by far the quickest and easiest products in this range that anybody can use. As you are already brushing you teeth it will not be a great change to swap your standard toothpaste for a whitening one.

The only thing about using this product is that it may not be as effective as other products with regards to the level of whiteness it can achieve. Also it could take slightly longer than other products to actually see an increase in the whiteness of your teeth.

Another way of whitening your teeth is to use pre-gelled plastic strips that fit directly onto the front of your teeth.

These are just left no to whiten your teeth but can take around twenty minutes for you to apply them each night.

A more effective way would be to use the teeth whitening gel kits. They can either be used with flexible trays that can fit most teeth or a specially made tray custom built by your dentist to fit your own teeth. Whichever tray you decide to use you just then fill it with the gel provided and fit it over your teeth.

If your aim is to have whiter teeth then you need one of these products. You can choose whichever you prefer but you need to dedicate the correct amount of time to use them properly. Once you have attained the color of white that you are looking for then you could just use them intermittently.

Why Your Teeth Need To Be Flossed On A Daily Basis

| March 31, 2010

Many people tend to disregard flossing in thinking that brushing is more than enough for their dental care. While it is indeed true that brushing your teeth gives out a host of benefits, we must not disregard the importance of flossing our teeth as well. As a matter of fact, any dental professional would recommend that you floss your teeth everyday in addition to brushing.

To better convince you that flossing is just as critical as brushing in ensuring the healthy condition of your gums and teeth, here are a few things that you ought to seriously consider and think about

For a start, dental flosses are particularly effective in removing and preventing the formation of plaque in the tooth structure. If food particles are allowed to remain lodged within the fissures of your teeth they will eventually break down and contribute to the creation of plaque.

I don’t think anyone would like the look of plaque on their teeth. It isn’t healthy for you either. If you want to keep your teeth looking white and clean then it is best to floss your teeth each day to prevent plaque build up.

The benefits of flossing also extend beyond your teeth and into your gums. Food particles that remain trapped in your teeth can eventually cause gum irritation and flossing remains as one of the most effective ways of preventing major gum diseases like gingivitis.

Lastly, you must not overlook the importance of flossing in preventing bad breathe. Indeed it can for obvious reasons. Food particles that are jammed within the fissures of your teeth can eventually break down and rot if they are not removed.

Overall, flushing is a much needed partner to brushing in order to make the best out of your dental care routines.

It will not cost you much other that a little effort to incorporate flossing to your dental routine. They are generally inexpensive and highly effective as a dental routine. There is absolutely no reason to neglect this need and the earlier you start flossing the more effective your efforts at dental care would be.

Why A Tongue Scraper Is A Must

| March 28, 2010

In recent years, the use of the tongue scraper has increased in popularity, and with good reason. They’re very effective. Many people mistake the root of bad breath and assume it’s caused by eating the wrong foods, or that it lives in the teeth and gums. While this is true, the main source of bad breath comes from the back part of the tongue.

The root of all bad breath comes from your tongue. The back of your tongue to be exact. Living deep within little grooves present inside your tongue are bacteria. These bacteria don’t get much oxygen, and as a result, they end up smelling really bad. This is the direct source of most cases of bad breath.

There are methods for temporarily killing or masking these bacteria, but they’re expensive and only temporary. While they’re effective to an extent, the individual most effective method involved is the use of a tongue scraper. Why spend money trying to temporarily kill off bacteria when you can simply remove them?

While some people brush their tongue with their toothbrush while brushing their teeth, there are three reasons why this isn’t too effective.

1) Try jamming a toothbrush all the way into the back of your mouth. Not only is it uncomfortable, but it’s dangerous. It could easily lead to gagging, or even choking.

2. Toothbrush bristles were meant for scraping your teeth, not your tongue. The tissue on your tongue is far more sensitive than the surface of your teeth, and using a toothbrush can seriously irritate it.

3) Even if you can somehow fit a toothbrush into your mouth so that it reaches the back of your tongue, a toothbrush is narrow and won’t be able to cover the whole span of your tongue from left to right.

A tongue scraper, on the other hand, is a much better option for various reasons. First of all, the thin shape of the scraper will allow you to reach the back of your tongue (the most important part) without feeling uncomfortable and making you gag. Also, a tongue scraper is much smoother than the rough bristles of a toothbrush, and much gentler on the tongue. Lastly, they’re really cheap and they last for a long time. I’ve had the same one for over two years now.

If you’ve tried gums, mouthwashes, brushing, and everything else imaginable, look no further than the tongue scraper as your best bet for directly removing the source of bad breath. You’ll be glad you did.

| March 17, 2010

Who among us does not want a smile complimented with white and sparkling clean teeth? Everyone obviously loves the idea and naturally hates the possibility of having plaque filled yellow teeth.

Today’s technology in dental care has placed us in a much better position to reap the benefits of a healthy white teeth compared to those who came before us. Ways of whitening our teeth had become surprisingly effective and abundant. The many tooth paste products in the market which all employ whitening capabilities is a clear testament to this.

About a couple of decades ago such products used to cost a fortune and well beyond the reach of the average family.

Fortunately, that was a thing of the past and due to modern conveniences keeping your teeth white and clean can be a fairly simple matter. Here are four ways that you can get the ball rolling for those white and plaque free set of teeth.

One way of getting this done is through the application of strips. They usually last for a day or two and you’ll need to use them twice a week at the most. It may not be easy to stick to it for a couple of weeks but it is indeed one of the most effective methods out there.

UV whitening treatment is also one viable alternative. It basically involves the use of ultraviolet light in conjunction with a gel like substance that’s applied on your teeth. If you want to get those white clean teeth in an instant then this ones for you. You can usually find kiosk in malls offering this type of services.

Another great teeth whitening solution involves the use of porcelain veneers. Unlike the strips, they typically last for about ten years and does not cause any stains.

Lastly, I would like to throw in a practical advice. Cut back on those food and drinks that contributes much to tooth plaque and staining. If you simply must have them, make an effort to brush your teeth as soon as possible afterwards.
